Our Story
Every great beer has a story.
Ours starts in the south of the city, where two friends shared more than just the same neighborhood—they shared the dream of creating something of their own.
In 2018, that dream became Brouwerij Zuid.
It all began with a small home brewing kit and a lot of curiosity. Enzo Smid spent countless hours experimenting with recipes, learning through trial and error, and discovering the endless possibilities of brewing. What started as a hobby soon grew into a true passion. As his skills developed, so did the ambition to take brewing beyond the garage.
Pim had always known he wanted to build something different. While many of his friends followed the traditional path during their student years, he was looking for an adventure of his own. So when Enzo asked if he wanted to start a brewery together, there wasn't much to think about.
The answer was a simple, wholehearted yes.
What started as two friends chasing an idea has grown into Brouwerij Zuid—a brewery built on friendship, curiosity, craftsmanship, and a love for brewing beers that bring people together.
Because the best stories are shared over a good beer.
